Works for Cello

Hopes and Dreams for solo cello and piano

Hopes and Dreams is the first installment from my larger work, Scenes from the Oregon Trail, written in collaboration with the artist-in-residence performers from the Clear Creek Music Festival, as well as the community in Halfway, Oregon. Hopes and Dreams was premiered at the 2015 Clear Creek Music Festival by Dr. Jesus Castro-Balbi.

Petite Suite for violoncello

This work was written for Texas Christian University faculty member Jesus Castro-Balbi.  It was selected to and performed at the 2018 Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference.

Sonata for pianoforte and violoncello

Sonata for Pianoforte and Violoncello is dedicated to Gloria Lin and Jesús Castro-Balbi.

The three movements, Romance, Lullaby, and Being Together are inspired by the life of a married couple with children.  Lullaby, in particular, is the story of storytelling to children at bedtime. The sense of the chronology is self-evident and might apply to any of us fortunate enough to find a beloved life partner with whom to make the journey.

Frames of Reference for flute, cello and piano

This multi-movement work can be performed either virtually or live. It was premiered this past summer in 2020 as part of the Clear Creek online concert series in response to COVID-19.
